How many house holds will here this on Christmas Eve?
It must be the most exiting time of the year for children and the most fraught for parents. The last thing you need is tired contrary children on Christmas day.
I would like to share with you some ides that may help.
Plan the day.
Get the kid out for a walk, swim, and playground or put on some music and dance. Do this in the morning or early afternoon. If you leave it too late in the day it will only serve to hype the kids up.
Make reindeer food.I make reindeer food with the children every year its great fun and serves as a nice ritual before they go to bed.
Magic Reindeer Food Recipe:
In a small zipper food storage bag or empty shaker container, mix:
1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal
1/2 cup cake sprinkles
1/4 cup red or green sugar crystals (as used for cake decorating)
You can also use cereals, nuts or anything you think reindeer might like.

this food will guide them to your home
If you house is centrally heated the air may have become dry in the past few weeks this can lead to stuffy noses and disrupted sleep. Invest in a humidifier preferably one with a safety switch that knocks itself off when the reservoir is empty. You will be amazed at how soothing the sound of this is. Vicks do a very good one but there are lots on the market Argos Ireland and England do a good inexpensive range but I am sure they are also available on Amazon and eBay.
Set a bedtime and stick to it give the kids notice an hour before bedtime get them into their pajamas and the half an hour before brush teeth etc so they are prepared and there is no unnecessary upset.
Give your self plenty of time with the kids before bed, try not to be busy doing last-minute things as they will pick up on your stress. Answer all of their questions no matter how many times they ask the same one!
Before you start put on some relaxing music like whale sounds or some light classical music there are lots to choose from on the market at the moment you know the kind of thing you might hear in a nice spa. Ocean sounds, white noise, heart beat, that kind of thing.
Burn a little lavender or chamomile oil in burner with carrier oil just a few drops as it is quite strong for children.
